I also make my Christmas cards using a photo. Instead of a folded card, tho, I start with a 4x6 pallet, add a background, add the photo, resize the photo, then add the words. Other trim can be added as well via clipart or other graphics you may have. I then uploaded the file to my photo store and have them print it in matte. (Much less expensive than using my inkjet.) I then add a sparkle or any other 3D decoration and put them in an envelope that I purchased at a paper supply. It's the same as if I had the photo store's card designs. I can write on the back of the card and the person receiving it can put it in their photo album. Merry Christmas!

I am surprised that PC World would have an article such as this but I am very happy about it. I have been doing this for years with the help of HP online craft's site. I make my own cards for all situations and folks get a little disappointed when I send them a store bought card because they know that "my card" were made especially for them and from the heart which personalizes it.
